I haven’t been up on the summertime mixtapes but here’s one that the homie Dj Smoov Groovs(Homegrown Blends/Snap Judgment) put out. I’m not just saying this cause he’s my homie, but he’s true musician by heart. Take a break from your hip hop mixtapes and LISTEN to something out of the norm. Shout outs to Snap Judgment andSmoov Groovs for putting together this summertime masterpiece. Spread the word, burn it on CD and import it into your ipod. DON’T SLEEP!

So I kinda got to tap into Sac Town’s talent pool. To tell the truth, I thought Sac Town didn’t have shit, I mean c’mon… You see nothing but cows and tumbleweed on the way over here. I discovered DLRN(5th Ave and producer Jon Reyes) through the homie Jason, he was mastering their album and I just happened to walk in on him *Pause*. DLRN really brings that quality hip hop to the table and I encourage you to download their new EP “The Bridge”. If you don’t, then you’re SLEEPIN! Spread the word yall.
Fun fact: Got a chance to help master “Reset” with the homies Jason and Anthony

Oddisee returns with another free instrumental release. Hosted by Trek Life, West Coast Beats features 14 new instrumental tracks as teaser for the upcoming July 27th release of Trek Life’s Everything Changed Nothing. Coming from the city of Go-Go, I’ve always loved production inspired by funk. when it comes to funk inspired hip hop, no body does it like the west. While I was on the west producing Trek Life’s album that inspiration went further than being a fan. I don’t know if it was the palm trees, beaches, or burgers but this is what I was making in LA.
